Rwanda Gitega 861
Coffee overview
Our first Rwanda of the season picks up where last year left off-- with big, intense flavors, high tactile mouthfeel, and recognizable Rwandan finishes. Gitega 861 is punchy, syrupy, and finishes with just a hint of earthiness. A big, bold, and loud start to Rwanda season!

Brewing evaluation
Rest: 30+ days recommended
Filter eval day 1: Gabi Standard - Intense cup, packs a punch with bright malic and citric acidity leading into peach stonefruit juice, a slightly more tactile experience here in the sweetness that is syrupy. Finish with nice clean hibiscus and orange blossom. Finish is very short and clean. A little surprising for the amount of tactile in this cup being a Red Bourbon from Rwanda. Quite nice.
TDS: 1.38 EY: 22.92%
Filter eval day 2: Gabi Gentle - Quite a lovely cup at this recipe, malic and some citric acidity up front into big syrupy sweetness in the middle, more stone fruits present here, finishing with the familiar hibiscus tartness, more linger in the finish that is syrupy sweet. Very good intensity and acid/sweet balance here. Great profile.
TDS: 1.46 EY: 22.25%
