Carlos Ramón Díaz is another new-to-us producer, his farm is also named La Esperanza and is located in Pitalito -- not to be confused with our other La Esperanza offering, we have named this release "La Esperanza 2." Also a washed Pink Bourbon, this lot offers a sparkling lime acidity along with a candied and tactile sweetness. We've profiled this to a light roast, pushing the sweetness in this cup further.
Ethiopia Banko Taratu 2025
Posted by H+S Coffee Roasters on
Banko Taratu is our first Ethiopia release of 2025, and it is a fitting start to the season. It showcases the intensity of a double fermentation alongside the stunning complexity of a quality Ethiopian washed coffee. Classic Ethiopia notes are here, but slightly twisted. Look for sun tea instead of earl grey, chamomile instead of lavender, yuzu instead of bergamot. This fun and intense cup is just the start of Ethiopia season, so buckle up.
Colombia El Placer Pink Bourbon 2025

This ultra-clean washed Pink Bourbon from Sebastian Ramirez is one of the anchors of his portfolio -- this coffee represents the bar from which he builds out his expressive processes. There are no hidden steps to this process, it is a straight washed, and it shows in the presentation of the cup. Expect bright, clean fruits along the spectrum of citrus and stonefruits, and a slightly floral finish.
Ecuador Divino Niño 2025
Posted by H+S Coffee Roasters on
Gabriel Chamba has taken Ecuador's most famous variety -- Mejorado -- and put his own spin on it. His process on this coffee includes a short held-in-cherry step, followed by a 'dry ferment' after pulping, then finally finishing with a traditional washed process. The effect on the cup is lively. Expect big juicy grape notes to hit up front, followed by exceptional Mejorado sweetness, and finishing with the trademark H&S florality for coffees roasted in this style. While subtlety is often found in Ecuador Mejorados, this coffee offers a loud and tropical acidity before revealing its Mejorado character.
Colombia Dulce Misterio 2025
Posted by H+S Coffee Roasters on
This coffee leapt off the cupping table during sample evaluations, offering an exceptional sweetness befitting the name Dulce Misterio (Sweet Mystery). Producer Mauricio Duque comes from the exporting side of the industry, and in 2020, purchased this farm after thorough research into soil characteristics and historical performance of coffee competitions in the region. Mauricio is very analytical in his approach, ensuring his processing is perfect through many metrics. The resulting cup offers a depth of sweetness that is truly remarkable. Keep an eye out for this farm as we expect to see many exceptional lots coming forth in the future.
